Presidents Corner

The Alaska State Firefighters Association would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Alaska State Troopers family and the families of Pilot Nading, Trooper Toll and Mr. Ober.  The loss of your loved ones has resonated across our state and we extend to you our heartfelt sympathy and support.

A special thanks to all of you that were able to attend the services.  The ASFA is making donations to the memorial accounts of VPSO Madole, Pilot Nading and Trooper Toll.  If you would like further information please contact me.

Our spring board of directors meeting was held in Anchorage on March 16th.  Some of the key points discussed were the formulation of joint conference planning committee which will include representation from ASFA, AFCA, the Fire Standards Council, the Training and Education Bureau and members from the current host and the next scheduled host chapters.  The board also approved the addition of a non-voting representative from the State Fire Marshals Office to our board.  If you would like additional information please get in touch with your regional representative or drop me a note.  You may have noted the addition of some new pages to our website.  If you have Life Member information please coordinate with Robert Dennard.  Please check back often as we will be updating as new information is available.  If you have suggestions to add to our website please contact myself or Robert Dennard.

We are hoping to partner with the Alaska Fire Standards Council to utilize their subscription to the program Go To Meeting in an effort to conduct regular teleconference meetings...stay tuned for more.
