Casey started in the fire and emergency services arena in 1994 as a volunteer with Chena Gold-Stream Fire and Rescue as an EMT I. While at CGFR he attained FFI and EMT III, and was a lead flight medic for Alaska Air Ambulance before leaving in 1998 to attend Paramendic School in Anchorage. After attending paramedic school and working as a summer contract medic in the Bristol Bay Borough, he was hired full time for the Antarctic Fire Department as an engineer and medic, stationed at McMurdo Station Antarctica. Upon returning to the world, Casey joined the Central Mat-Su Fire Department and Mat-Su Borough Dive Team where he is currently employed part time as a Lieutenant and a Captain respectively. In those duties he uses his FF II, EMT I and Public Safety Diver training to do the same things you do every day.
Casey currently works full time for the State of Alaska Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, assisting with response, coordination and recovery from natural and man-made disaster through-out the State.
He lives in Wasilla with his wife Kristin, son Jace and is expecting another child in October. They spend most of their time working, travelling or at their cabin in the hills of Petersville.
