Dave started his Alaskan firefighting experience by joining the Sitka Volunteer Fire Department in 1988 and has

Dave is the Chief of the Sitka Fire Department. In the National Volunteer Fire Council he is the alternate director for the ASFA.

Dave has two sons Travis and Micah who both live in Sitka. Travis is a volunteer FF/EMT with the SVFD.
